Secondary Schools Share their Healthy Living Stories with 2010 Legacies Now

Secondary schools around the Province are finding exciting ways to offer and promote healthier food choices, and encourage healthy living practices amongst students. From January-April 2009, leaders from these schools submitted their healthy living stories to the healthyeatingatschool.ca website, hosted by the BC Dairy Foundation to share information about the people and programs inspiring their staff and students to lead healthier, more active lifestyles.

Each month, up to ten submissions were randomly drawn and the winning schools received 60 free pedometers from 2010 Legacies Now for sharing their stories. Winners from this contest included:

Rutland Senior Secondary, Kelowna
Spencer Middle School, Victoria
Golden Secondary School, Golden
Brooks Secondary School, Powell River
