Process:
The school PAC has been running a snack table for a number of years. Originally a mixed treats food table, following a change in PAC leadership and the implementation of the Guidelines for Food and Beverage Sales in BC Schools, the offering changed to healthy foods – fresh fruits and vegetables in season and foods that are OK according to the Brand Name Food List.
A Grade 2 student stood sadly beside the table. “I wish I had $1 for those cherries”, he said. “All I have is 3 cookies.”
